Beachy Blue

This outdated, dark, and inaccessible San Jose bathroom remodel had two very distinct design features that needed to be met for our clients. The first being completely ADA complian, and second to introduce coastal flair, to remanence on their time spent by the water.

Designing an ADA bathroom requires thoughtful consideration, and every element of the shower and walk-in closet had to be well discussed, thoroughly planned, and constructed to meet the unique needs. Leveling throughout was paramount to allow independent rotation of a walker and wheelchair, widening the entry to the now curb less shower provides a safe and seamless transition from the open bathroom to the enlarged shower. Non-slip pebbled tile, an adjustable handheld shower head, and two reachable convenient niches sit above the proud floating shower bench creating a zero-barrier universal space.

The essence of the seashore is felt the moment you enter, with tranquil sky-blue cascading walls, accent mosaic Tommy Bahama tile adds depth and contrast along the vanity and shower. Creating the visual of changing tides, with natural white tiles combined, creates the illusion of sand and sea. The beautiful new whitecap vanity pairs perfectly, with its double sink and its plethora of storage. No longer does this bathroom feel dark and damp, instead it is almost as if an ocean breeze crests against your face.

On your left upon entering is the spacious walk-in closet, complete with adjustable shelves and cozy window bench. Polished chrome grab bars are strategically placed throughout the bathroom, an ADA height compliant toilet and custom height linen cabinet made mobility accessibility a key component for this project, yet no beauty was sacrificed to make this happen. This bathroom and closet are now the perfect pairing of both clients' desires in one charming sea blown setting.
