San Jose Kitchen Remodel
Sophisticated Serenity: The Evolution of Grey Haven

Grey Haven

Basic brown flooring, boring wood cabinets, heavy brown overhead lighting, the existing plain Jane kitchen was the go-to look in the 90’s but with creative design solutions this now chic kitchen is the Pintrest-Pin on the evolution of style.

This unrecognizable space was completely reworked to create a seamless transition from kitchen to living area, by knocking down a load bearing wall and reconfiguring the kitchen this home feels far more spacious without adding a single square foot.

Sleek bright white custom cabinets replace the overpowering light wood. A rich gray island drenches the space in contrast, topped with a London Gray quartz countertop while a deep overhang offers plenty seating and helps to highlight the length of the newly remodeled kitchen.

The existing pantry was inconveniently located in the laundry room outside of the Kitchen, through our design process the pantry entrance was added and relocated to a previously empty kitchen wall, Utilizing every inch of the space. A handsome hutch with glass front cabinets, makes use of vertical space and elevates the dinning area.

This Modern L-shaped San Jose kitchen remodel features all-new appliances, a built-in television and apron front sink, perfect for hosting. Attractive stained natural wood flooring and textured glass backsplash tile spark instant inspiration for any potential remodel.

“Our relationship with May Construction started in 1993 when we bought our current home in San Jose. We needed to remodel our kitchen and May Construction was highly recommended to us.  Fast forward to 2020, we were more than ready for another kitchen remodel. We were thrilled to learn that May Construction was still in business and thriving! Greg came out to listen to our ideas and offered insight on how best to meet them. We appreciated his vast knowledge, experience, and quiet confidence. We met with a few other businesses and quickly learned that May Construction stood out beyond all others.
Prior to start date, we were provided a detailed calendar of work to be done which was seamlessly followed. May Construction has excellent relationships with all their subcontractors. This close relationship creates a positive working environment and pride in the work completed by all. Our project was completed on time with punch list items addressed to perfection. We worked with some amazing team members from May Construction! Donna, Designer/ Project Coordinator, was truly amazing and pleasant to work with. Bill, our Project Manager, was outstanding! His overall knowledge of “everything” regarding construction was very impressive.”
